AI Makes 4 Day Work Week Practical

The four-day work week experiment has historically been viewed with some skepticism, despite some pilot programs, such as those sponsored by 4 Day Week Global. According to a World Economic Forum report, various experts doubted that employers were likely to get on board.

But that was before AI became a tool that actually has practical applications rather than something merely imagined.

According to Tech.co’s Impact of Technology on the Workplace report, 93% of surveyed businesses already using AI are open to a 4 day work week, compared to only 41% that have never used AI.

According to Tech.co Editor Jennifer McIIveen, “As more businesses harness tools like ChatGPT and Google Bard to streamline processes and handle administrative duties, these responses unearth exciting insights about AI’s potential to drive up productivity. They also demonstrate how this surplus productivity can be used to benefit workers and not just business owners, by freeing up leisure time and bringing concepts like the 4 day workweek closer to reality…The technology should be depicted less as a job-replacer and more as an aid to healthier, flexible working lifestyles.”

Just one example of the positive implications of AI to improve human working conditions is AI content moderator, Unitary. According to the press release, “The rapid rise of artificial intelligence has sparked significant AI anxiety over the past year. Yet Unitary is using its tech to bring welcome disruption. By automating the content moderation process, it’s tackling a vital job that has become unsuitable, unscalable, and often traumatizing for human eyes.”
